Foundation distributes solar street lights to Ogun communities

A non-governmental organization, the Lawal Olaseni Foundation, has distributed solar street lights to several communities in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The founder of the Foundation, Lawal Olaseni, while presenting the street lights on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital said the street light provision was in line with the foundation’s vision to provide alternative solutions for the country’s power sector.

Olaseni emphasized the foundation’s commitment to assist the less privileged and provide support to youths and society at large.

Recognizing the importance of addressing the lack of electricity in many communities, Olaseni said the solar street lights would enhance security and improve the quality of life for residents.

“If we look at our society today we are suffering from the issue of electricity in the country. I believe the community we distributed these solar street lights to would benefit when it comes to security issues within the society.

“Some of these communities when there’s no electricity it is always blackout, for security reasons, this will serve as a very big purpose for the community it served,” he said.

The communities in Oke-Ona, Gbagura,  Oke-Ogun and Owu, were the beneficiaries of this initiative, which aims to contribute to the safety and well-being of residents.
